ARRAN update
Last sailing for a car on Friday 21st May is 20:30pm. Car cost is £59 return. A car is not essential but I am advised it is handy. If you intend to take a car across you really should book a ferry crossing asap. Passengers return are £9.70pp. Ferry company website:- http://www.calmac.co.uk/
So far for Arran I have; me, Tony, Lottie, James Duthie, Les, Steve Grove, Pete M, Laila, Adam, Nic. Sorry if I have missed anyone. 10 so far and lots more rumblings of interest. Get thinking cars and pairing up for the ferry crossings. Let me know what you organise amongst yourselves.
For those that don't know it is totally ace so you should come.
If you are picky and want inspiration try these:- http://www.ukclimbing.com/images/dbpage.html?id=78603
400m of VS granite. Loads of big routes on this spectacular mountain including the classic rock tick Sou'wester Slabs. Other areas to climb but it is generally, big, adventurous and requiring a walking in and a level of commitment.
Ardrossan is 4 hours from Liverpool by car. For those without wheels the train connects to Ardrossan ferry terminal after a change at glasgow.
Any more information. Drop me a line. Oh we are intending to camp at Glen Rosa campsite. See here:- http://www.glenrosa.com/arran-campsite.html

Just thought I would say thank you to Steve B for booking the Whillans Hut at the Roaches. A great little hut that must be the closest hut to climbing in the country? A great weekend. Well done Steve.

My late husband was a member of the Vagabond Mountaineering Club from the late 1940's until 1958. Do you have a history of the club ? Thanks

According to UKC Forum: http://www.ukclimbing.com/forums/t.php?t=405137
On Wednesday 28th April DMM will be hosting an event at Awesome Walls, Liverpool in association with V12 Outdoors.
We will be bringing along our range of harnesses and many other products to test throughout the evening.
DMM staff will be on hand to answer any questions and go through additions to the range for 2010, in particular the Dragon Cam.
Just to top it all off we will be running a raffle with lots of prizes to be won!
See you there...

Sorry but can't make the Roaches, hoping to be abroad so if you can all cross your fingers for Kevin to come back and for me to go away.
Thought I'd just mention my meet at the Wye Valley on 8/9th May. It's not too far away for great trad or sport climbing close to where we'll camp. It's also got routes of all grades. We can provide copies of the guide book if needed. I'm hoping to put some photos on the site prior to going but it won't be until the week before we go.
